The exhibit is a recreation of a typical Maasai village. The purpose for building this exhibit is to provide zoo visitors the opportunity to experience the culture, history and family structure of this interesting and significant group of people. This exhibit is another example of the zoo's living museum concept of demonstrating how animals and humans co-exist with their environment and with each other.
